No-Tabs-Auto-Discard: Disable auto-discard of all tabs or for tabs with specific domains
No-Tabs-Auto-Discard is a Chrome extension developed by mobile.eura that allows users to control the auto-discarding feature of Chrome tabs. In some cases, domains or web applications that are state-rich and always connected can be negatively impacted by Chrome's auto-discarding feature. This extension provides a solution by allowing users to configure the behavior of auto-discarding on their Chrome instance.
With No-Tabs-Auto-Discard, users have three configuration options. The first option is to turn off the extension, which will revert to Chrome's default behavior. The second option is to disable auto-discarding on all tabs, including both already opened and new tabs. The third option is to disable auto-discard only for specific domains, again including both already opened and new tabs.
The extension can be configured in two ways: through Chrome Policies for enterprise administrators/users distributed via Windows Group Policy, or through a local configuration file. The extension's configuration parameters include DiscardDisabledMode, which controls the extension's behavior, and DiscardDisabledDomains, which is specific for disabling auto-discarding on specific domains.
Users can manually refresh the extension's configuration by clicking the "Refresh Configuration" button on the extension popup. Additionally, the configuration is automatically refreshed when Chrome starts up, every 60 minutes, or when the device is locked or the screensaver is active for more than 2 minutes.
No-Tabs-Auto-Discard is a free Chrome extension that falls under the Browsers category and the Add-ons & Tools subcategory. It provides users with the flexibility to customize the auto-discarding behavior of their Chrome tabs, ensuring optimal performance for state-rich and critical applications.
